As school is getting ready to start next week, I still can't believe last school year went by so fast, I wanted to revisit some of the past elementary school mile stones from the last year. The first one that comes to mind is my little Cayden completed a whole year of Kindergarten. He loved it! It challenged his brain! In February the school tested him multiple times, and after extensive evaluation, (including a 7 page report filled out by Justin and myself), he was placed in the ALPHA talented and gifted program.he will remain in this program until he graduates high school. 8 kindergarteners out of 100 where chosen to be the in the program. He meets weekly with the other ALPHA kids at our elementary school. But in 3rd grade he and the ALPHAS will also go to another elementary a few times a week for special instruction. He is so proud of himself for it- and I really think it helped is overall confidence. Every Thursday he was so excited to show me his ALPHA work!
Here's some pics from Cayden's Kindergarten celebration. my favorite part of the program is when the kids sing the special, beautiful "Listen" song. It's a school tradition that started with Kay-Lynn's kindergarten group. I tear up every time because it reminds me how blessed I am to have these beautiful children, and that they grow up so fast. Time passes to quickly and they're only my babies for a short time.

Cayden graduated kindergarten, and Kay-Lynn graduated 5th grade! She's no longer a elementary school student!
I can't believe it!
It seems like just yesterday I was walking her to her to Mrs. Durrick's kindergarten glass room, with her pink/brown plaid skirt, white ruffle socks, and cute big pink bow in her hair. Then she started screaming hysterically and would not go in the room, and the school counselor, Ms. Test (who is the person Kay-Lynn will miss most from Minshew), was called down to hold her while I could heard her yelling and crying as I briskly walked down the hall. How could that have happened 5 years ago? And it seems like just yesterday that she was singing the "Listen" song?? my little one that made me a Mommy is no longer a little one. She's now off to middle school wearing mascara, straightening her hair, and having sleepovers.
